About me

I am a Christian Poet, Author, and Teacher with a passion for helping people live an encouraging and abundant life. I live out that passion through writing poetry, devotional books, and teaching. My hope is that my writing and teaching will encourage and inspire you.

I live in southern Colorado with my incredible wife, who is also my best friend. We have two wonderful sons, two loving daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, a grandson-in-law, and a granddaughter-in-law.

I have been in vocational Christian ministry for over fifty years. During the first part of my ministry, I served as a youth pastor, an associate pastor focusing on Christian discipleship, and then senior pastor of two churches. For the last twenty years, I have been teaching at Gateway Seminary (formerly Golden Gate Baptist Seminary). Currently, I teach Spiritual Formation in the Doctor of Ministry program.

My formal education is a Master's in Religious Education and a Doctor of Educational Ministry degree.
